The Christiana Rugby club was established in 2006 with a grant from the Delaware Rugby Foundation and has competed in the Eastern Pennsylvania Rugby Union since that time. The team has increased its players numbers and victories each year.  The first season saw the team have a roster of 19 players for most of the season and struggled to learn the game and finished winless.

In 2007, we had 9 returning players and added another 12 and earned our first win in school history. At the conclusion of this season we had two players, Mitch Van Noy and Trevor Thomas invited to the USA Under 19 National Team camp.

For the 2008 season we had 15 returning players and were able to increase our roster to 25 total players. The influx of new talent with the return of some experience led to a record of 8 wins and 5 losses and our first playoff game ever. In this playoff game we lost to the eventual EPRU Champion St. Joe’s Prep, but only after a strong first half followed by the loss of our emotional leader, Mitch Van Noy to injury.

This conclusion of this season saw us have another player, Vasil Razpovov, get the invite to the USA camp.  For 2009 we will the return 11 players from last year.  We look forward to the challenge of replacing our top two scores, Jarrell Avant and Trevor Thomas, and hope to continue the improvement in our play.
