The Delaware Rugby Foundation (DRF) recently hosted a week-long rugby camp at Sanford School, Hockessin, Delaware for approximately 30 boys and girls aged between 10 and 14 years. This was the first rugby camp conducted by the DRF, and was the brainchild of DRF Vice-President Kevin McDermott and Sanford School Summer Camp Director David Szarletta.
The camp was run by DRF board members Kevin McDermott, Andy Newcombe, and Bob Weir and featured fun games, rugby drills and activities, penalty kicking competitions, and 7-on-7 touch rugby games.
The camp was a resounding success and all participants received DRF rugby t-shirts upon completing the camp. Based upon the success of this year's event, the DRF has been invited back to Sanford School to host dedicated co-ed rugby camps in 2013.
